2020 conference – Galway – postponed to 2021

SFLS Conference update: May 2020

Because the effects and duration of the current Coronavirus pandemic are still unclear, the Officers of the Society for Folk Life Studies have reluctantly postponed the annual conference for 2020, which was planned for September in the City of Galway, Republic of Ireland.

It is hoped that this conference will now take place between 26th and 29th August 2021. Further details will be issued once it is clear that the pandemic has subsided and travel and public meetings can begin again.

The Society’s President, Dr Dafydd Roberts has agreed to extend his term of office for a further year and will now step down in 2021.

The Society’s Officers hope to arrange a virtual Annual General Meeting for this year in September 2020. Further details about this will be published on the website.
